Iron & Wine – Pagan Angel and a Borrowed Car
Just a song that makes me happy every time I hear it. And it even has the word ‘car’ in the title!
Farao – To Sleep Apart
I once made a cover of this song for my ex-boyfriend after we had a crisis moment. I remember that I almost started crying while I was singing it since I really felt the lyrics speak to me.
Celine Dion – The Power of Love
This was the number 1 on the 26th of February, my birthday.
My Brightest Diamond – I Have Never Loved Someone
‘... And when I grow to be a poppy on the graveyard
I will send you all my love upon the breeze
And If the breeze won’t blow your way
I will be the sun
And if the sun won’t shine your way
I will be the rain
And if the rain won’t wash away
all your aches and pains
I will find some other way
to tell you you’re ok.’
My brightest Diamond – It's Me on the Dancefloor
I was at a concert of My Brightest Diamond once where they opened with this song, and you could hear her singing but she was not on stage. Then, all of a sudden, she was singing/dancing next to me, and the way she was making her way through the crowd was just so confident and cool! So every time I hear this song it reminds me of her steady presence next to me and how she walked onto the stage afterwards.
Moddi – Rubbles
More than 10 years ago, I saw Moddi plus band perform at Haldern Pop Festival, in a beautiful church. They started with these small, rumbling sounds, the drummer was making these squeaky sounds with a bow and his cymbal, and it was so magical. The whole church was dead silent. And I was in tears.
Ane Brun – Directions
I chose this song because Ane Brun is one of my biggest inspirations, so even thinking about her makes me feel inspired. This song is also about seeing possibilities and taking it step by step. Everything is possible!
Savant – Starfish
A Swedish friend showed me this song as we were driving in the countryside of Sweden. We opened the windows, turned up the volume and had so much fun. Can you imagine this music with the idyllic Swedish nature in the background?
Rakede – Volldampf (feat. Samy Deluxe)
There’s just so much energy in this song!
When I dance and sing to it, I’m able to let go of a lot of things.
Laura Marling – Rambling Man
When I was younger I loved to play all of Laura Marling’s songs.
Here’s proof:
Jacob Collier – Feel (feat. Lianne La Havas)
Because this song is just super sexy.
The acoustic version of Frost by my band Sólin.
