Celia May is still young. She has only released two songs. But “Before I Sleep” and “Enough” already paint such a promising picture that we want to know more about the young artist and are already looking forward to the upcoming EP in the summer. And if that’s not enough, you can already get exclusive background insights in her Fanklub and get acquainted with Celia May’s musical taste in the article below.
Apache 207 – Sport
It’s a song that all my friends can sing along because I turn on it so often. . . perfect to set the mood, especially when driving on the highway!
Ed Prosek – Give It All
I think it’s a lesser known song that really touches the heart. Perfect if you just want to let everything out.
Bauhaus – All We Ever Wanted Was Everything
I don’t know where I found the song, but I think it’s just the right thing for the morning after a party, when all the people are gone and you go home on the train and look out the window with headphones. There’s something tragic about it, like something’s coming to an end. I think it would be a great fit for my funeral.
Nirvana – Where Did You Sleep Last Night
used to be a big Nirvana fan and my first self-bought record was MTV Unplugged in New York, which I think I bought when I was 13. It’s hard to choose a song for the album, but I think it would be “Where Did You Sleep Last Night. ”
Paula Hartmann – Truman Show Boot
A song I discovered only recently: “Truman Show Boot” by Paula Hartmann. My producer showed me this one or two weeks ago in the studio, and I was so enthralled from the first second that I couldn’t stop listening. I think she has a way of conjuring up a picture in the listener’s head with her words and that inspires me immensely.
Money Boy – Drip Drop
A very guilty but also great pleasure. . . . I play his songs at home all the time, they just always boost my mood.
Schmyt – Taximann
I could have named almost every Schmyt song here, but “Taximann” is my favorite. Another song that fits perfectly to driving on the motorway or wanting to escape a bit from your thoughts for a few minutes.
A$AP Rocky – L$D
I don’t have to think about it. You can just fall into it, almost like you’re floating in a cloud.
Them Fantasies – Hook-Up Culture
I always forget that the song is so unknown because it sounds like it could be a huge hit.
A song called “Drowning”, which I haven’t released yet. But it will be on my EP coming this summer. The song is very close to my heart and I think it would be the perfect show closer.
